MJ Wilson Group Purchase Flotech Solutions

We are pleased to announce that the M J Wilson Group Ltd has completed the acquisition of Flotech Solutions Ltd with effect from 2/6/2011.

The acquisition brings together two long established specialist Instrumentation companies, enabling us to combine our market expertise, geographical reach, service capabilities and technical experience, to provide customers with a broader range of products, supported by an extensive branch and field sales network throughout the U.K.

We are all very excited by the new partnership opportunities this will open up to us, which will create a much larger organisation capable of everything from trade counter sales right through to major turnkey projects.

There will be no immediate change to the way in which you interact or do business with M J Wilson Group or Flotech Solutions and your usual company representative will continue to be your point of contact.

Flotech Solutions at FPS Expo

Flotech Solutions are today off to the Harrogate International Centre to set up our stand for the Federation of Petroleum Suppliers annual event.

The show is open on the 13th & 14th April, and will see a wide variety of professionals from across the UK, Europe and the USA visiting to check out the latest industry innovations, network with colleagues and learn about new legislation and other industry issues.


Flotech Solutions will be exhibiting the latest Brodie BiRotor Plus flow meters and Valves on stand C48. These PD meters are the most accurate in the world and are specifically designed for tanker loading and Ethanol blending duties.

New Brooks Smart Interface Software

We are please to introduce the new Brooks Smart Interface (BSI) model 0260 for sale.  The 0260 is a Microsoft™ Windows™ based software application that provides expanded control and monitoring capabilities in laboratory and research environments for Brooks thermal mass flow meters and controllers with the RS485 Smart protocol. Together with the 0260 power supply / RS485 to USB hardware module, this product provides a great turnkey solution for monitoring and controlling up to thirty (30) mass flow meters/controllers.

The BSI software allows the user to:

·         display full scale flow rate

·         display the measured flow rate

·         display and adjust the set point

·         display the device/alarm status

·         display and change valve over ride (VOR) status

This software tool also provides data logging, batching, blending and the ability to create automated process recipes. The BSI hardware consists of a power supply and RS485 to USB table top hardware module and the interconnecting power and signal cables for the first device. Each hardware module powers up to 10 devices. The BSI model 0260 will work with the following Brooks Instrument mass flow product models: 48xxS, 58xxS, SLA58xxS, SLA78xxS, SLA78/79xxS, MFxxS and SLAMFxxS.

UKAS ISO 17025 accreditation

Gas flow calibration can now be carried out at our Stockport facility in accordance with the exacting standard of ISO/IEC 17025:2005, further enhancing our existing laboratory calibration standards. As an addition to the internationally recognised NIST and NMI traceable standards that Flotech currently operate, the implementation of the ISO 17025 quality management system, with it’s ability to highlight specifically derived uncertainties, now offers our customers an even greater level of confidence and assurance when seeking measurements that rely upon accuracy and repeatability for important process applications.

The complete range of products, from simple insertion paddle type switches, through to the robust 'S', 'V' and 'A' series differential pressure flow switches and monitors, will all be available from an extensive stock holding plan, which also includes the new 'M3' mini flow transmitter suitable for a wide range of Oil and Water applications. Brooks acquires Celerity instrumentation assets

It is our pleasure to announce that on 15 June 2009, Brooks Instrument acquired certain assets of Celerity’s Instrumentation business including the instrument manufacturing operations in Allen, Texas. Brooks Instrument has provided exceptional flow and pressure measurement and control solutions to the market for more than 60 years. This acquisition strengthens and deepens Brooks’ capabilities in the markets we serve and we look forward to working with former Celerity instrument customers.

The Celerity instrumentation product line evolved over many years through the combination of several businesses. The MFC product family, for example, contains products with Unit, Tylan, Mykrolis, and Celerity lineage.
