9400 Series Oval

The Brodie 9400 Oval gear flowmeter is available for line sizes from 0.5” to 3”, with with flow ranges extending from 5 to 25 L/min up to 100 to 1500L/min.
The three piece body design allows for simple inspection and servicing, without affecting the counter drive: the unit is particularly suitable for high viscosity oils, and in its standard form provides an accuracy of +/- 0.25% for viscosities above 5 cP.
A powerful magnetic coupling drives the output shaft, which is linked to a mechanical totaliser register. A unit suitable for food use is also available.

In the Brodie 9800 Series Power Pulse Oval gear flowmeter, the rotation is measured electronically, with visual displays provided on the Brodie Tri-10 electronic register. This microprocessor based instrument is used for flowrate indication and totalisation. It is capable of transmitting a factored analogue current output signal (4-20 mA) that can be used to drive standard process instrumentation. A pulse output is also available.

Mobrey Rotameter 134 Series

Rotameters are utilised for the flowrate measurement of most liquids and gases with direct readout of flowrate. A special ""float"" is fitted within a tapered glass tube. With the flow vertically upward through the  meter, the float settles at a position where its mass is balanced by the upward forces of the flow through the annulus between the tube and float. The greater the flow the higher the float rises to increase the annulus and balance. The top edge of the float is read against the scale, giving an instantaneous reading of the flow rate. Various methods of alarm output are available for signalling low or high flow conditions.

The metal tube 250 series variable area flowmeter is a specially designed instrument for measuring the flow if liquids and gases. Its robust design makes it highly suitable for use on hazardous and corrosive applications as found in most industrial processes.


Principle

The instrument must be mounted in a vertical pipe with fluid circulation in the upwards direction. The self guiding cylindrical float is positioned inside a tapered tube. When the flow passes through the meter the float rises to a position of equilibrium where the weight of the float is balanced by the net force due to the fluid pressure. The float is magnetically coupled to a pointer indicating the rate of flow on the front scale.

w A stainless steel or an alloy float fitted with a magnet, with guide rods at each end

w Two end stops in stainless steel used as a guide for the float

w An indicator housing unit in aluminium alloy.

Turbine

Flotech industrial turbine flowmeters can be applied to a wide range of duties in the process industry measuring both lubricating and nonlubricating liquids of low viscosity. The all stainless steel construction gives good corrosion resistance. Furthermore the FS4 is largely unaffected by changes in liquid density and temperature. Valves

Principle Of Operation

The valves are pilot operated and operate on a balanced piston principle, spring biased to a closed position. Pressure differential overcomes the force of the spring, causing the main valve to open and establish flow. The pilot varies the pressure on the spring side of the piston for position.

Vortex

Provides excellent application flexibility and stable, accurate flow measurement signals on liquid, gas or steam processes. The patented sensing system is built into an all-cast body which requires no process seals, eliminates fugitive emissions and allows flowmeter maintenance while fluid is in the pipe. Only one sensor is required for the complete range. The unique shedder bar does not include ports or crevices in which fluid deposits might clog the sensor mechanism and degrade flowmeter performance.
